Strike gold every morning with Deep Mountain Blend. This medium-dark roast super-premium coffee is handpicked at the farm in the Restrepo, Colombian mountains. It reveals notes of caramel, dark chocolate and hazelnut, ending with a subtle but crisp, citrus fruit finish. Dwarven Dawn arms adventurers with the strength to dig deep, face the day and take on new lands!
This coffee was so fresh and had an exceptional taste. I recommended GeekGrind to my family.
Strong dark roast that isn't acidic tasting or ground chewing! 2Tbsp in a french press on a course grind made for a delightful morning that perked me up and got me ready for whatever was coming!
We have fallen in love with this coffee. It is great for many things. I take 16oz of fresh brewed Dwarven coffee and mix it with powdered hot chocolate to taste. For this I used 3/4 cup. Mix hot chocolate with the coffee in a heavy sauce pan on the stove (you can use a microwave. I just find it tastes better on stove top). I heat it until steam rises. You don't want to let it boil or simmer because the cream will curdle when you add it. Slowly add about 8oz of half and half a little at a time making sure to stir constantly. Bring the temperature back up while continuing to stir until you see steam rising. Then place in desired drinking vessel and enjoy! Sometimes I top it with whipped cream. I would suggest this coffee to anyone.
After lamenting that we wouldn't be able to buy Geek Grind coffee more often after trying Goblin Gulp and loving it, they announced their doubleshot sale. We couldn't resist trying some more with what amounted to a 33% discount. We got more Goblin Gulp, Dwarven Dawn, and some others. This was the first of the new roasts we tried. Seeing it was a darker roast we went lighter on the brew at about 1.5 Tbsp per cup, but it was still unexpectedly strong. A little of this goes a long way. We like 2 Tbsp per cup for Goblin Gulp, but this one is probably gonna be 1 Tbsp per cup from now on. While this isn't our favorite, it brews a great cup of coffee that we highly enjoyed and we'll introduce it into our rotation. That first sip slapped us in the face and knocked any sleep out of our eye!
This is a great darker roast, and easily feels like a dwarven coffee! The dark is not too dark, but nor is it bitter at all, it is a smooth flavorful dark - and feels like something earthy that you might expect from something with its name. This was my first order with Geek Grind, and I was very happy - often it is difficult to taste the "subtle differences" at places, but you can taste them here. Very pleased and highly recommended!
